Well, today, went for the Organic Chemistry Practical 2. Missed the 1st due to chicken pox. The actual date for my practical is tomorrow morning (or I should say later) but due to the reschedule of Principle of Economics Lecture from Wednesday to Saturday morning. The time clashes and thus my friends and I decided to went for the Practical meant for another tutorial group.
In the end, the lecture was postponed to the afternoon instead from 1.30 to 3.30pm. That would meant that I would miss my 2nd Piano lesson of the month with another week of public holiday. So that meant that I did not touch my piano for almost a month. Not a good sign. I can chose not to attend the lecture but as I had missed the previous due to chicken pox and it is something which I had not studied before and the lecturer will be going through 1 of the tutorial questions that she missed with those classes after the lecture. Thus, I decided to go for the lecture especially when there is a test next week which include this week lecture.
Anyway, back to Organic Chemistry Practical. I know the lecturer. Not very close but he does recognize me. Good thing or bad. I was hoping not to end the practical late and since I reached early by taking the staff bus, I went to take all the glasswares required and weight the 1st component. After the briefing, we went straight to the fumehood and started doing the practical when YL and the lecturer came to me. At that point of time, we were the fastest.
The lecturer wanted me to experiment something for him. His practical protocol states to use Hirsh funnel but he thought we do not have and thus gotten YL to prepare the Buchner funnel with bigger surface area for suction, filtration and drying. Today, he found out that there is Hirsh funnel and get me to use it and compare the results with another group. (-.-)'''
Good thing is we would have maybe more to discuss but the bad thing is as Hirsh has a smaller surface area for suction, filtration and drying, we had been lagging behind due to the much longer time to dry our samples.
Well, since I was early and was in no mood to study, I got a few pieces of labelling tapes to label our glasswares. Those that might need to be placed in a common area for drying or incubation. I do not know what to label so I drew a Bobdog's head. In the end, after the practical, after getting our dyed cotton squares cut and to be distributed among all of us, my friends made me drew our trademark, Bobdog's head on all the dyed cotton. LOL! Anyway, we aren't the last to leave. So it shouldn't be that bad.
