inconsiderate relatives

yesterday was my cousin's wedding. woke up very early as my aunt & uncle asked us to reach before 8am. the sabotaging part took almost an hour and was stopped because my aunt passed the key to them through the window as the sisters still aren't satisfied.

reached the hotel at around 5.30pm for the solemonization ceremony. it already started late and i felt that it was very draggy. can't be help since they going though the christian or catholic ceremony. and by the time it ended, it was near 8pm.

back to the ballroom where the banquet was held, because of the delay, we went at around 8.30pm. while everybody was going in, my parents & I was at the other side with the piano. i played a while on the piano since nobody was around.

my parents & i were supposed to sit with my mum's eldest sister and youngest brother and their family. yet my eldest aunt came with 5 adults including herself and 2 kids (1 who is around 2 years plus). All took up a seat each when my aunt promised a total attendance of 4. so my parents & i got no place to sit. my mum's youngest sister in-law even volunteer to give up her youngest son's seat but my eldest aunt & her family just kept quiet. they also never say anything when my mum & i got comment that we have got no place to sit and we didn't said it together. we comment that at 2 different time and we aren't together.

in the end, we were separated. i sit with my mum and my dad alone. he sat with a table with 1 guy whom he sort of know but that table spoke in cantonese but my dad had difficulties with that language. my mum & i sat with a clinic assistant whom we know and 2 aunties whom my mum sort of know and my distant ex-colleague who is my cousin's neighbour.

what angered me most is that my eldest aunt and her family didn't stayed throughout the dinner and they left without telling anyone. in the end, my mum's youngest brother had to ask the waiter to packed up their 7 set of rice and bring home to eat today. i felt that they are so inconsiderate. my parents and i could have sit together with the rest of our family members if not because of them and they still have the cheek to leave early.

jus now, i heard from my cousin (bride's youngest sister), that 7 of them (5 adults and 2 kids) came with only a red packet of $200 when the banquet is held in a hotel ballroom with a cost price of more than $1000 per table and the dishes served got dishes like sharkfins, abalone, ostrich meat, etc etc. my aunt (bride's mum) was very mad about it and even 'quarrel' with my uncle when they got home but my uncle never argue back since it was his eldest sister.
