Black-Out Once Again

After being so relieved just now, it black-out again after I was using it for the past 30-45 minutes. But luckily it never black-out when I was keying the previous blog. & now I had to make it fast...

Hmm... Maybe tomorrow, I try to change keyboard, mouse and even moniter. To check if it could be caused by any of these. *Crossed fingers* *Hoping*

My PC scared of my dad?

Just now, after coming back from my grandma's house, I decided to test my PC again before I told my dad. Same problems occur again.

After I told him, I manually shut down the PC using the Power Switch on the CPU. After a while, my dad came to look at the PC so I switched it on.

Somehow, it seemed like the PC was scared of my dad. It was working fine when he was here. My dad even check his emails, etc and still was working fine. Hmm... Weird...

I don't understand why this happened. So I shut down the system and restart again to test. This time it worked. That is how I can blog right now.

My dad told me that he had called the IT guy actually. His advice is if the PCs got problems, don't bother fixing them back as they are pretty old system actually. I can't believe my ears. I know the PC in my bedroom is the oldest following by the PC in my dad's room then the PC in my study room.

Due to all the mix and match, repair and changing of these and that, I had lost count of the PCs' age. I just know my part of my mouse and printer had turn yellow from the constant exposure to indirect sunlight that shine into my room. I just know that my PC in my bedroom is still using a mouse with rolling ball.

As I lost count of the PCs' age, I thought my PC was at most 1-2 years old. But my dad told me that it was much older than that. After a hard attempt to recap, I think I had this PC before I had my piano and that was in March 2005. So I thought it would be about at most 3 years?

I just went to dig out the invoices for the CPUs. Managed to find out the date for my PC in the study room and the date for my dad's PC. His PC was dated back to 24 May 2002 and my PC was dated back to September 2003.

Hmm... My PC was near 4 years old and my dad's PC was more than 5 years old? That would meant that my other PC in my bedroom is an antique. Wow!!! No wonder that IT guy told my dad that our PCs are very old. No point getting them fixed if they are down. He was sayingthat this moment, this problem might be solved, following moment another problem might arise. So he suggested that we should get new PC if ours are really down. Maybe that is why my PC is back to normal when my dad is home. It knows it would be in trouble if it is ill.

Well, I supposed even though he (the IT guy) is out to earn money (Once, on the second or third visit, he even charge us by per hour in addition to other charges, etc), he is still honest with this issue. I'm glad he is. I had been worrying also because in case he went all out to earn money, we would spend more than unnecessary.

I guessed after hearing these, after confirming the ages, I am much relieved. Yet at the same time, I was hoping they can last as long as they can especially when now, there is another issue to take note. The TV in the living room is totally gone.

For me, I know it might be expensive to get a new TV especially when my living room is big so a normal 21 inch TV be pretty small as compared to the current around 40 inch flat-screen TV. I supposed can try to look out for a normal (maybe 29 inch) TV which was the size of the previous TV that we had in the living room. I guess that should do the job rather than trying to get it repair when it was down again like at most 3 months after last servicing. But all in all, this is what I think and feel. It would be my dad who make the final decision. If he decided to get it repair, I guess I won't go against it. We can just give it a 1 last attempt to revive it though.

But it would be really bad timing if all are down at this moment. This moment when the sole family income will be totally back to my dad. This moment when I am short of cash. This moment when I am trying to look for part time job just to make my ends meet without asking money from my dad.

Damnit. I saw 1 clinical assistant post for evening and weekend at around JE a couple of days ago but I decided to try my luck to source for 1 even nearer to my house so that my parents would not worry so much when I knock off late. I shouldn't have done that. I should have try to call and ask. What have I done! *Sigh*

And yesterday after trying to guide my cousin, Michelle, a primary 2 kid, for her english homework on cloze passage, I realized I confirm can't teach to give tuition. Especially English. You might think that I had graduated with a Diploma and had been working for 4 years plus. How can I not know how to teach a lower primary English. Yet I am stuck... My grammer sucks, my vocabulary very limited, etc etc. I can't even think of a word for a primary two cloze passage. How can I teach this way?

So giving tuition is confirm out of question. Unless I can specialized in Mathematics which is my only strength. Yet, I had no confident after lost contact of the subject for ages. I need to recap. I need to know their syllabus, etc. Hmm... It's harder than ever to get a part time job...

So please! Please! PLEASE!!! I begged the PCs at home to last as long as possible till I manage to find a part time job that could earn more than what I need for the next few years.

PC getting weird...

My PC is getting weird. The PC that I usually used to access the internet, to do work, etc. *Sigh*

About a week plus ago, when the Singtel people come to fix the broadband, it was then that I detect that the CD-Writer was not functioning as it should be. It could not read any CDs that I placed in the drive.

I can't remember when is the last time I used it but I remember always used that drive rather than the normal CD-ROM drive when I need. And the last time I used was to burn some documents (doing some documents backup).

Yesterday, something weird happens again.

This time, my screen will black-out after I left it alone while I start the system. Shaking my mouse, pressing some keys on my keyboard doesn't light up my screen when my CPU is still running. Even I press restart, the CPU also won't restart and it does produce some form of beeping sound.

I had to manually press the Power Switch till the CPU shut down then I restart the whole system by pressing the Power Switch. I had to keep moving the mouse when my CPU is starting up so that the screen do not black out again.

Today, it is even worst. I manage to use it for a while in the morning with same problem as yesterday). But just now when I want to use it as I forgot to put Out of Office for my work email account. So I wanted to do so. This time, I can't even get to see my Window Screen for more than think at most 5-10 seconds and it black-out. This time even moving my mouse when the CPU start doesn't work at all.

I also realized that even my keyboard got no signal. I tried pressing 2 keys. The Caps Lock and the Num Lock. These 2 keys should produce lights or the lights be gone when you pressed them when the CPU is on. Yet, there is no reaction when I pressed these 2 keys.

Actually before all these happened, I had problem when I shut down my CPU. It always shut down very very slowly.

Now, I am using my dad's PC to come online to put Out of Office for my work email.

And now, I am even more and more unsure whether or not to change my Window 2000 to Window XP. Especially now that problems start to come out from my PC. I don't want to waste unnecessary money. I want to make sure that whatever I do to my PC and my dad's PC is worth the money.

I am having questions now like...

My PC
Why did my CPU take ages to shut down?
Why can't my CD-Writer drive reads?
Why my moniter, keyboard and mouse can't detect the signal from my CPU?
Why my moniter does come to life when the CPU is starting and why did it black-out?
What is the main problem or problems that caused these?

My dad's PC
Why can't he access the website he needs to for his work?
Why is his PC slow?
It prompt 'not enough virtual memory' before on the night when the broadband is fixed.
Why and what is virtual memory?

What is wrong with these 2 PCs?
How can I get these 2 PCs fixed?
How much money do I need to get them well?
Is it worth it to get them repair and change the window from window 2000 to window XP with the service charge of $100 per PC just to change to Window XP?
What is the Window XP that the IT technician told my dad that it cost around $150 each?
Is it the basic edition or the professional edition?
Will these problems re-occur?

I am going nuts when it comes to problems with CPU.

Even my TV in the living room is down when it had been repaired just less than or at most 3 months ago. It black-out again after it was fixed back. To get a new TV will cost money. Yet to get it repair, how long can it last? The previous repair only lasted not more than 3 months so how long can the next repair last?

*Sigh*

Missed FOC - Good or Bad?

I had never been to any camp before. So actually, I was hoping I can go once to at least know how it is like. To experience how it is like to be. But I choose to give it a miss again. Why?

Reasons...
1. Got briefing for duties as Marshal for the Convo. on Tuesday.
2. Was having my inconvenient days.
3. Was having bad cough.

Well, it seemed that the briefing for Marshal duty was not compulsory. They never take attendance. Anyway, my colleague who is suppose to be going with me can't make it for the briefing so I must go eventually so that both of us know what to do on the actual day.

Apparently, it seemed that missing the FOC wasn't a bad decision overall.

More Reasons...
1. Everyday, I either can't fall asleep easily due to my cough or been waking up early due to my cough. This means that I can't really sleep well at night and I'll be really tired the following day.
2. I seemed to have slight fever on Sunday when I went to see the Doctor for my cough.
3. I was feeling very uncomfortable with cramps and backache on Monday and Tuesday that I had to pop pills.
4. During music theory class on Tuesday, we were passed a form to register for the exam in November 2007. We must submit the form by this week and I was staying quite near my music theory school. So I submitted my registration during my lesson that same day of my lesson.

I can't imagine if I went for the FOC, how bad it will be. I guess I'll look half dead due to the tireness and uncomfort. I'll miss the registration for the exam and will have to drag further on to March 2008. And I believed I will cause sleepless night for the rest of my new friends. Oops...

Movie - Transformer

Saturday, had the same usual routine except that my cousins did not come over after their abacus class. Their cousin's having a birthday party so my aunt brought them over. They only came after I reached home from my piano lesson. After which, my mum brought the 2 eldest to go swimming while I look after the maid and the youngest who fallen asleep due to tireness. And the maid talk to me and we chat.

At that time, my friend, Mei, sms me and asked if I want to catch a movie (Transformers) with her and Sze. Soon, Sze also sms me but I only confirmed with them after my mum came back.

We met at 8.30pm. By the time we reached the cinema, the tickets were sold out which we did not expect so. So we rushed to another place. There were still seats. But the queue was very long. And we only had 15 minutes to queue before the show started.

15 minutes later, we got our tickets (somehow), and we went in to the threatre. We were at the very first row. OMG!

Anyway, the show did not start immediately. It started almost 10-15 minutes late at around 9.25 to 9.30pm.

The show was pretty nice. Pretty exciting even from the beginning. As I wasn't well (had cough and once in a while slight headache that day), after like half an hour of watching, I got headache again. I guess it's also from the position that we were in plus, we were so closed to the screen and the screen kept spinning and spinning as the air crafts flew. I had to close my eyes for a moment then I continue watching. And I'm glad my headache did not persist on for long so I manage to watch the movie throughout.

After the movie, we went to take trains home. By the time I reached home, it was already 12.05am. By the time I wash-up and get to bed, it was almost 12.45am. I guessed I was so tired that I almost fallen asleep immediately after my head touch the pillow if not because of my cough.

Exciting dreams

1 or 2 days back, I had an exciting dream.

It's like those movies on crocodiles just that I'm in it.

The crocodiles in my dream are very intellegient. They won't show themselves on the surface of the water. At most you might see is a few tiny bubbles which can be easily missed. And mind you, a group of people and me are in the shallow water too.

Last night, I had another weird and exciting dream. I dreamt that for the NDP performances, they add in a stun. A stun which will involve many persons (Youths and Kids). A stun which involve the MRTs and LRTs. Can you guess what it is?

It's not human pyramid. It's MRTs and LRTs pyramids. Not just 1 pyramid, I think there are 3 in total. WOW!!! Exciting right? All 3 pyramids are in different formation which I do not remember. I just know I was there when I saw the 1st pyramid and was trying to take photos when I see more pyramid coming. In the end, I don't know why and how I got into 1 of the pyramid.

After the whole rehearsal, we gather at the LRT platform. And don't know why, someone played the song 'di yi tian' by Sun Yan Zi and most of us stood up and dance to it (seemed like most of us there were from the Youth General Meeting in early this year). Hmm... Weird...

And also due to the risk involved, we were suppose to be given $1k.

I think I watched too many exciting movies and had like performance, etc quite closely that I had these kind of weird dreams. Somemore, I'm quite in need of money ba. LOL!!!

Tiring Monday!!!

Took leaves from Monday to Wednesday and time off on Thurday.

I plan to go out with Ling on MOnday. Yet due to some circumstances, we could not.

My aunt, xiao yi's dog, shiro, scratched her butt till got lobang. Then my aunt worried she will scratch and worsen the wound. And she was unable to take leave on MOnday.

Actually, last thursday, she brought the dogs over to my house. Friday, my mum went over to look after them as my cousins' parents aren't working. Saturday, my aunt brought them over again.

I took leave to rest, to tidy my rooms, to practice piano & go out with Ling.

Since I'm on leave, I thought at most I helped my aunt to look after her dogs. At most, I rest when I'm at her house.

In the end, my mum suggested that I look after my cousins while she take care of the dogs so that I can pack my rooms. (Like this is worst loh).

6.30am wake up (usual time)
7.45am go over to cousins' place
8+am make sure the youngest (Wilson) don't cry searching for his mother
??am get the kids to wash-up & had their breakfast
??am get Michelle to learn her spelling & dictation
10+am make sure the maid prepare lunch
11am get d kids to have their lunch
11.45am get Michelle to change into her school uniform
12 noon bring Michelle down to wait for school bus
12.15pm go back and make sure Nelson (the 2nd kid) to shower and change into his school uniform
12.45pm bring Nelson, Wilson and the maid to take LRT (I bring Nelson to school; the maid bring Wilson to my house to shower and get him to take his nap)
1.30pm reach home and put soup ingredients to boil and cook
2pm pack a bit of my room
3pm prepare dinner
5pm get Wilson to have his dinner
6pm go over cousins' place to fetch Michelle from her school bus (Luckily my mum got back to take over) so I continue to pack my rooms.

So tiring!!!
