Yesterday, the new 42 inch SHARP TV arrived.
The guys did the connection of the new DVD player to the TV and forgot about connecting it to the entertainment system. Well, it doesn't matter cause I could do so myself.
Since the TV had been delivered and seemed to be working fine, I thought I would go and collect the NTUC voucher from SHARP for my parents since I wasn't working.
Wanted to leave house at around 9am yet I overslept so I only left house at around 9.30am. And my bus passed by NP which was my poly years ago. I haven't been taking the bus since I graduated from poly so when I saw the students getting down the bus at the NP bus-stop, I was thinking that, 'Hmm... I was 1 of them before and it was years ago... OMG!!!'
I wasn't a person who is very good at direction so I printed out the map and the bus guide so that I would not get lost. Yet I was still worried that I might so when the bus was getting near my destination, I took out the printed bus guide to look at distinct landmarks. I also looked at the map again to see where is the exact location and direction that I need to walk. At that point, it started to rain. So sad... I do not want to open my umbrella as it is very troublesome.
Well, I missed certain landmarks but it's alright. I managed to drop off at the correct place and walked to the building that I need to go without opening my umbrella since it was just small drizzle.
There was a security at the entrance to the lift lobby. So I walked straight to inform my purpose of visit but it seemed to him that I do not know where is the SHARP office so he told me it's at level 21. LOL!!! But it's a good thing that I asked him. Apparently, the lifts were going to different levels. So I got into the correct lift.
At the SHARP reseption counter, I saw a familiar face. I do not recall where I saw her before as I had seen so many people especially over the past 2 years. Anyway, she do recogonized me too but she went off to do her work.
When she reappeared, she was passing the vouchers to the lady who came before me. While that lady was checking through her vouchers, we chatted a bit.
She asked if I am still working in there (I was still trying to recall where I seen her before) and I told her that I'm leaving for studies. She asked me where and I told her it's the same place. She asked what course and I told her while still trying to recall where I seen her. She asked if I got exemption and I said no. She asked how long I had been working and I told her that it's 4 years. And she commented that I will be there for very long. And her final question at that time allow me to figure out that she was a student. She asked if I would need textbooks. Well, if there are, of course I would want. But we could not chat further as she needs to get back in.
When she got back, this time with my vouchers, she asked me to check. Then when I am done and before she left, she told me that she is going there to work in a research lab under 1 of the prof. Didn't manage to ask about the textbooks thingy but anyway, I trusted that I would be able to get it somehow. If not, then I get new ones just that I was hoping to save some money by getting it 2nd hand or borrow from someone.
When I left, it was only drizzling so I also did not bother to open my umbrella. As I had looked at the map earlier on, I know where the bus-stop is and got there easily. Even though the map did not show any pedestrain crossing, I managed to follow my instinct to climb the stairs instead of trying to search for a traffic light crossing. I saw people coming down from the stairs and I saw escaltor and stairs at the other side of the road so I just assumed that is the overhead bridge which it does not look like so as there were shops along the bridge.
My bus came soon after and once on board, I soon got to realize that it was exactly the same bus which I took to go to collect the vouchers. The same bus and the same driver. LOL!!! What a coincidence!!!
At first I thought of going to get a notebook but it was raining when I reach the interchange so I decide to go home straight as I would not need my umbrella if I go home straight. Maybe later then I go and get the notebook ba.
