YWD Leaders Kenshu

Yesterday was the YWD Leaders Kenshu. I am not a leader but my leaders aka friends, Shuling & Elvee, asked me to join too. Thus I went yesterday.

I meet another friend, Yifang, & her member, Rebecca, to go to the HQ together and we reach early. There were YWD helpers right from the entrance of the Kaikan. WOW!!! And they (holding the small Soka flag on their hands) would greet, clap & cheer all who went in especially those who are going for the Kenshu. And they were situated all the way to the registration counter.

We had a bit of chanting in 1 of the room at the basement while waiting for the people to clear after the morning gongyo. And the helpers were also situated from the registration counter right to the basement to lead us the way. Soon the room were so packed that all the seats were taken and that many others had to stand and kneel down at whichever position they could find.

Once the main hall was cleared, we were told to shift up. As we moved up, the helpers had already situated themselved along our path all the way to the main hall at level 2. Again, they would cheer us all.

We had some cultural programs by each individual zone and these small cultural programs were slot in between to lighten the whole atmosphere especially after we had some strict lectures or guidances. The cultural programs includes songs, cheers, even visual (like the 'cao ji bian bian bian'), and even dance. My zone, BP, came out with a dance. By right I am supposed to be in it too. But by left, as their training were on Saturday afternoon as I had piano lessons, I did not join in. This time, I swapped position. I am the audience instead of the performer. LOL. Anyway, my zone was put to the last to perform and I can say that it is the best among all. I guess it because among the groups of 10 + people, 1 was a dancer cum an ex Sunflower girl and 3 other current Sunflower girls. So you can see that they put in effort in their dressing and their make-up too. (**Sunflower is a dance cultural group)

We had lectures on the Gosho, 'The Opening of the Eyes', we had a workshop on how a leader should be with video clip, there were testimonial sharing, they showed video of the YWD dancing on the 070707 Performances, Video of Sensei giving guidances, and our GD get 'up-close' with us by sharing what he had been going through and thinking for the past few months, etc. We even had a photo taking session which by the end of the training, we got the photo. I had scanned the photo wanting to upload here to show that there were many people attending the training but then the photo size was too big for me to put here. And my PC do not have any software to edit and reduce the size. So too bad.. You can't see... ;p

Other than the lecture for the Gosho that is pretty heavy, overall, the whole training was pretty light-hearted due to some funny juice on how they bring forth the workshop with the video and the testimonial sharing.

But at the last half of the training, my throat start to get itchy and that I kept coughing and had to keep popping between 2 flavours of Strepsils and another kind of herbal, minty sweets and drank more water. I guess the air-con must have cause my throat to be extremely dry and due to my sitting position (right in the middle), I dare not drank too much water as I would have problem trying to get out.

And today, when I woke up, I can feel my throat is sore when it had already recovered except for my cough.
